Description

This Aquatic centre is located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur region in Aix-en-Provence, south of France. A dynamic city where residents enjoy a great lifestyle. Also known to be the homeland of historic painter Paul Cézanne who derived his inspiration from the beautiful scenery and  rich cultural heritage. This city provides a large and varied choice of hotel packages combined with well-developed and accessible public transportations system. Furthermore, Aix-en-Provence is at the crossroads of different highways strategically connecting Northern France, Spain and Italy. The proximity of the city centre to major transportation hubs makes the city accessible for both visitors and residents. The Aix-TGV station in 15 minutes from the city downtown and offers direct connections to Paris in only three hours’ travel time;  also the international airport Marseille Provence is a quick 25 minute commute to the city. And finally, it is also possible to access the region  by sea given its close proximity to the port of Marseille. As for health services, the Aix-Marseille Provence medical centre is considered one of the most efficient and advanced in France. Located a few hundred meters from the historic city centre, this facility  was renovated in 2019 to meet the needs of the Resident Club of Water Polo and other artistic professional swimming sports. Within the perimeter of the Aquatic centre is accessible a track and a field area and covered gymnasium.

Special features

The aquatic centre uses the latest technology in advanced treatments for water, air, and environmental in addition to high maintenance of equipment capabilities. An impressive mobile wing that divides the 50m pool basin in 8 corridors and two 25m basin shows brings efficiency and practicality to the facility.  Capable of hosting high level  professional aquatic training and competition, the facility is equipped with top notch locker rooms dedicated to high level sports, a gym and a dance room for artistic swimming both accessible directly from the pools. Also, rooms dedicated for meetings, media and anti-doping test  are available within the facility.

Known for

The aquatic centre houses the Club du Pays d’Aix Natation, a historic club competing in both water polo and artistic swimming. The professional waterpolo team is ranked in the top four of the French league and has qualified for several years to various European Cups. As for artistic swimming, the Pays d’Aix Natation is the first recognized French club and manages, in collaboration with the French Swimming Federation, the pole France espoir.

The French teams of this discipline regularly carry out training seminar.
