Lac de Uby is located in Cazaubon-Barbotan les Thermes in the Gers department, in the southwest of France, a hotspot for green tourism and known for its relaxed lifestyle. It is a 72-hectare artificial body of water located in a protected valley within a remarkable natural site. This geographical situation results in an almost absence of wind. The lake has 6 rowing lines of 2000 meters each with almost the same water depth throughout the course. A walk along the water allows you to be as close as possible to the athletes during training and competitions.
Cazaubon-Barbotan les Thermes is a thermal spa, the most important in Midi-Pyrénées. This implies the presence of a large number of housing solutions (hotels, tourist residences, furnished apartments, etc.) and catering, as well as a Gaming Casino. In view of the organization of many large-scale rowing competitions, the professionals of the municipality are very used to welcoming athletes and their habits.
For many years, each season, major rowing competitions have been organized on Lake Uby, including the French Short Boat Championships almost every year.
