Description

The Gabriel Menut nautical stadium extends ove one hectare on the banks of the Seine river at Corbeil-Essonnes. It consists of 50m x 20m stainless steel Olympic pool with 8 water lines, a 25m x 15m pool with 6 water lines and a diving pit with diving boards at 1m, 3m and platform at 5m. This equipment also includes a completely isolated green area. The 50m pool has a roof that can be opened over half of the pool, which is very useful during summer. The water filtration and treatment system was completely modernised in 2017. The nautical stadium is fully accessible to People with Reduced Mobility (PRM) a lift is available immediately at the entrance. It is named after Gabriel Menut (1908-1969) in homage to the founding president of the French Federation of Lifeguards, who was born in Corbeil-Essonnes. Special features

The setting is simply magnificient on the banks of the Seine river. The 50m pool opens directly onto a completely isolated green area.

A nautical stadium with so many pools is a rarity in Ile-de-France.

The 50m pool is isolated from he 25m pool.

The standard equipment is already available on site, such as the turning lines or the false start line at 15m.

Known for

In water polo, the dolphin club of Corbeil-Essonnes plays on the National 2. The matches are played in the 25m pool or the 50m pool. The site is fully equipped with all the necessary equipment, including a special scoreboard and time displays.

In swimming, many national and international level swimmers have been trained in this pool.

In artistic swimming, courses are organised during the school holidays by the Ile-de-France Swimming League.

The 50m pool is also used in winter for elite canoe polo competitions.
