Description

Mâcon is ideally located in the heart of Europe. The capital of South Burgundy can be found 1 hour 35 minutes away from the Olympic sites of Paris 2024 by high-speed rail and 3 hours 45 minutes by car. The two international airports of  Lyon Saint-Exupéry and Geneva allow you to reach this area in just 1 hour by car. Thanks to its activities, culture, historic heritage and its famous poet, Alphonse de Lamartine, Mâcon offers all the advantages of a city in an outstanding natural setting. More recently, Mâcon was the training town for the international footballer Antoine Griezmann. Mâcon is also intrinsically linked to its internationally-recognised Mâconnais-Beaujolais wines, which are perfect for social occasions. The Marie-Josée Perec stadium, located just 2.5 miles from the north of the city centre, was inaugurated in September 2018. It is at the heart of the Antoine Griezmann sports and leisure area which also comprises two artificial football pitches, a BMX track, a natural rock climbing site, a pétanque (French boules) area, a model car race track, a speedway track and a motocross area.   This stadium is dedicated solely to athletics training and has all of the equipment necessary to enable all disciplines and wheelchair sports to be practised. It has a blue 8-lane track enabling training events to be organised according to the wind, thanks to its two-way marking and two entry points. The track has a 16mm thick “Resithan PASC” type water-resistant polyurethane coating which is approved by the IAAF.   Discover the site as if you were there : https://www.klapty.com/tour/L2C0HFujxt More information about the city of Mâcon: https://www.macon.fr/
