Description

The Robert Bobin stadium in Bondoufle is the department of Essonne’s top athletic facility. Its polyvalence and adaptability are significant assets that help meet the needs of Essonnian stakeholders as well as represent an opportunity for international and national event organizers. With its 18,850 seats, including 4,500 covered seats, around its 400-meter, 8-lane track, its many jumping and throwing areas as well as its 117x73-meter grass field has turned it into a stage for exceptional performances. Easy to access by road (borders the A6 nd N118 highways) or rail (RER lines C and D ), the Robert Bobin stadium is also accessible by air thanks to its proximity to the Orly airport (15 minutes away).

The stadium, since its inauguration in 1992, has hosted a large number of international and national events:

Men’s rugby: Under 20 Championships, the French team’s practice field and a Pro D2 event for the Massy Essonne Rugby club.

Women’s rugby: 6 Nations Tournament matches.

Men’s football: many international matches with teams from Cameroon, the Ivory Coast, Guinea, Tunisia and Slovenia.

The French junior team against England, matches with major European clubs (Juventus of Turin, Bayer Leverkusen, Paris-Saint Germain).

The Robert Bobin stadium was chosen as the practice site for the 2016 UEFA.

Women’s football: friendly matches between France and Canada and the Czech Republic, a UEFA quarterfinal and many Division 1 Féminine matchs and Coupe de France events.

Track & Field: National Championships (Elites and Juniors); also used by athletes from France, USA, Russia and a large number of other foreign delegations in preparation for international competitions.
