Description

Founded in 1887 and one of the “Yacht Club de France” first club member, “La SNM” has held the title of IRC Champion Club by UNCL since 2011 (exception in 2017). Located in the heart of Marseille, on the Old-Port, “La Société Nautique de Marseille” also known as “La Nautique” currently welcomes 556 usuers. It is also the only French Club to have joined the International Council of Yacht Club (ICOYC), a prestigious international organization bringing together the major sailing clubs from around the world. SNM’s mission, supported by a well organized and proficient head management, targets 3 key areas : - Organisation of sailing races and outstanding nautical events within the luxurious and overwelhming Bay of Marseille, future race area during the coming 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games - Promotion among a wide public of sailing and nautical activities, young adults, disabled, minorities, through a performant sailing school equipped with 4 sportsboats and cruisers, which was sponsored by Florence Arthaud - Offer of a high quality service to the 556 boat users, through the services of a private contractor of the Metropole Aix Marseille Provence. Known for

“La Nautique” has become a benchmark for the organization of major and lasting nautical events.

The famous SNIM (Mediterranean International Nautical Week ), where more than 150 boats around 10 nationalities and 10 top-level crew meet, is one of the most striking example.

We can also consider the Calanque Classique, the 15mJI Championship, the One Ton Cup (1976, 1994, 2000), the Orma Grand Prix trophy, the Mumm 30 World Championship, the International “Star” Championship, the National Surprise, the IRC UNCL 2014 final, the objective Barcelona cruise race on the occasion of the opening of the Olympic Games or the famous Vire-Vire, with its 67 years of’existence which brings together more than 200 participants and 2000 team members each year, allowing access to as many people as possible.
