Description

3 forests of Chantilly, Halatte and Ermenonville. Two different rivers run through the town. A green oasis only 45 minutes away from Paris via the A1 motorway and only 15 miles away from the Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport. Senlis is an old town with a remarkable architectural and cultural heritage, witness to its 2000 years’old history. The town has initiated different policies to highlight its quality of life and is now branded « villes fleuries » (green town) with a 3 flowers’trophy aswell as «Pays d’Art et d’Histoire » (history and artistic county). This medieval town has always been keenly loved by film makers. Its various public and private cultural, social, sports, leisure, transportation and educational equipments do make it a town renown for its quality of life and sought after. The liveliness of its shops and businesses, the variety of its restaurants and museums, make it a holiday place to discover. Senlis is today drawing its strength in its cultural and historical background in order to move on and create a future full of promises and challenges. It has more than 40 sports sections, ranging from collective sports to individual sports and combat sports. Sport in Senlis comprises more than 4 300 people in all. Competitions, games and sporting events are organised every week-ends. Senlis is renown for its footrace « la Senlis’Oise », its annual trail in december, its 24 hours cycling marathon and its 3rd division soccer team.

Special features

The soccer ground of Senlis comprises 3 normal-sized grass pitches (105 X 65). 2 of which are ranked level 4 by the French Football Federation.

These pitches all have changing rooms that were renovated in 2015. They include 4 collective locker rooms with showers and toilets. The 1st team pitch hosted the italian soccer team during the 1998 world cup.

June 1998: Italy monopolizes all the facilities to make its base camp for the World Cup in France.

May 2006: PSG hold their last training session before the Coupe de France final against Marseille

November 2006: France team practice before the game against Greece, while the Clairefontaine facilities are under construction

August 2010: Organization of the international friendly match between Burkina Faso and Congo

April 2011 – April 2012: twice, the Olympique de Marseille made its last training sessions at the stadium before these two league cup finals, against Montpellier and Lyon

May 2013: Evian Thonon Gaillard’s team prepare for their French Cup final against Bordeaux

January 2016: Organization of the 32nd final of the Coupe de France between US Chantilly in front of Guingamp then in league 1

February 2018: Senegal’s national team organizes an internship for its selection.
