The Espace Sportif Sébastien Loeb and Gymnase de l’Union centre is located in the heart of Haguenau city centre, alongside many public amenities, and is the city's educational and sports hub. A car park with 180 spaces is located in the immediate vicinity and parking is also available nearby. The Espace Sportif Sébastien Loeb can host handball and basketball matches, the Gymnase de l'Union is suitable for gymnastics competitions and the DOJO is designed for combat sports such as judo. Finally, the Maison des Sports is perfect for basketball, with its parquet floor, renovated in 2014. This centre has four buildings, all of which have disabled access. Haguenau is well-situated. Based in eastern France at the gateway to northern Alsace, the city is close to Germany, Belgium and Switzerland. The city is accessible by motorway and various types of public transport such as the train (less than three hours from Paris). Haguenau city centre is a friendly, pedestrianised area, which is great for strolling among historical buildings, museums, shops, tea rooms and bars and restaurants, known for their Alsatian, French and world cuisine specialities.

Not far from the Espace Sportif Sébastien Loeb and the Gymnase de l’Union is the recently renovated Nautiland aquatic centre, which includes a 25 m pool and a wellness space (sauna, jacuzzi, hammam and cold pool). A place for athletes to relax and recuperate after training, matches or competitions.

Known for

Haguenau has had great success in hosting major sporting events such as a match in the last 32 of the Coupe de France in 2009, the Rallye de France-Alsace from 2010 to 2012 and an air show in 2015 featuring the Patrouille de France and attracting more than 60,000 spectators over the weekend. The Espace Sportif Sébastien Loeb has hosted the heats and semi-finals of the TOP 12 (gymnastics) and an international gymnastics match between France and Romania in 2016.  Every year, the council honours deserving athletes with a Gala of Champions that combines the presentation of awards with sporting demonstrations and brings 1,500 people to the Espace Sportif Sébastien Loeb.
