Fencing Boxing

Description

Located in immediate proximity to the marina, the beaches, the marshes and La Chaume, the historic district, the Salle des Sauniers sports complex enjoys an easily accessible, central location in the heart of town.   The complex features a wide variety of sports facilities (a stadium, two gymnasiums, a boules court, a tennis court and a beach volleyball court), as well as : - the Fleur de Sel building, created in 2014, which houses a dance studio, a dojo and the Jean-François Lamour fencing hall. -  « Espace Boxe (Boxing Area) », renovated in 2021 integrates a boxing room and two additional areas for training and for the staff.   Both these facilities are is an ideal training venue for fencing and boxing.

Known for

The France national adult men’s and women’s foil fencing teams came for a week-long preparatory training clinic in April 2017.

The French Fencing Federation wanted to return for another clinic in November 2020, this time with the France adult men’s and women’s sabre teams. Unfortunately, the clinic had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The complex welcome the boxing club « Boxe 85 », which organized the 1/4 and 1/2 finals of the elite Senior France Championship (men and women) on 10^th and 11^th December 2022 in Les Sables d’Olonne. The Club hosted the GRAU brothers, high-profile athletes and members of the France senior team who are currently preparing for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
