Basketball

Description

These facilities, dedicated to the practice of high-level basketball, are composed of several sports spaces: most notably including a 930 m2 (44 m x 40 m) parquet sports floor (double joists) for the practice of basketball. The facilities also feature two parquet rooms of 220 m2 and 300 m2, as well as a 120 m2 meeting room and a 70 m2 relaxation area. The facilities offer all the necessary amenities for the practice of sport: showers, changing rooms, toilets, anti-doping room, and a cold-water bath. The Sports Complex is located in the heart of the city, close to major highways, public transport (with a metro station just a few metres away) and two train stations.

An excellent geographical location: in the heart of the city, with many hotels and restaurants located nearby, and accessible on foot.

Efficient practice areas: The basketball training area is not visible from publicly accessible areas, allowing for private practice.

The Sports Complex has an elevator and is accessible to people with disabilities.

The facilities also include another venue a few metres from the Sports Complex, consisting of a sports hall (30 x 17 m) and a weights room of approximately 90 m2.

Known for

The facilities are home to the Lille men’s professional basketball team, which competes in the “Pro B” championship.

The national teams of Tunisia, the Central African Republic, Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal all visited in 2012 to train in preparation for the African Cup of Nations in Men’s Basketball.

In 2013, the facilities hosted the second qualifying round for the Women’s Euro Basketball (FIBA), with a total of six international teams.

In November 2017, the French Men’s Basketball team came to train here, as part of their qualifying matches for the 2019 World Cup.

In addition to basketball, the facilities have also hosted boxing championships (World, European and France), the Taekwondo international Open and French-Speaking World Cup, French Karate championships, and more.
