Description

In the heart of the city center, this 4000m2 sports complex is equipped with two handball/basketball halls (800 and 1050m2), one of them with parquet flooring and bleachers, a dance studio (200m2 of parquet), a multi-sports room (200m2), a 400m2 dojo with two fighting mats, an outdoor platform with three 1400m2 handball/basketball courts with vulcanized rubber flooring. The athletics stadium of more than 6400m2 of synthetic flooring, fully renovated in 2022, brings together a grass track for launching, a 400m athletics track with eight lanes on the straights and six on curves, a long jump area with synthetic starting track, a pole vault area and a high jump area with two high jumpers.

Between sea, marsh, dune and forest, the city of Saint-Jean-de-Monts benefits from a natural heritage that lends itself perfectly to all kinds of outdoor activities. The ocean, its 8 km of gently sloping beach and its 750 hectares of state forest offer a wide playing field. Athletes have the possibility of practicing all kinds of nautical activities such as sailing, kitesurfing, kayaking, etc. Also cycling along the 171km of cycle tracks of the Océan-Marais de Monts Community, the largest network in the Vendée province. So hiking in the dunes with trails set up for it and the trail within the First Trail Station of the French coast with the “Univerde Trail” seal of the French Athletics Federation. Within the framework of the 2024 Olympic Games, the city of Saint-Jean-de-Monts holds the label “Land of the Games 2024” to convey the excitement of the Games and allow the greatest number of people to experience the Olympic and Paralympic adventure . Preparation Center for the Olympic Games, the city of Saint-Jean-de-Monts has been hosting the French track racing team (half-marathon) for practice sessions since 2020. They will attend twice a year until the JO 2024.

Teddy Riner 2017

Teddy Riner has inaugurated his first practices judo academy and multi-activity competition in Saint-Jean-de-Monts in April 2017. The double Olympic Champion and ten times World Champion has led practices for 200 young judokas from 8 to 17 years old who have had the pleasure of meeting with this immense champion and of receiving the teachings of some of his fighting skills as well as sharing good moments of conviviality. “I was looking for a community that could please, a city where the children could do other activities. Kevin Mayer Experience

Kevin Mayer (Silver Medal in JO Decathlon 2016 and 2020) has always defended his specialty and doesn’t miss an opportunity to bring it to light. Determined, he has created with his brother Thomas a general public event and open to all. They have chosen Saint-Jean-de-Monts for two editions!
