Description

Located in the heart of Provence, only 25 km from Avignon and 30 km from the Mont Ventoux Regional Natural Park, Monteux is a welcoming town of more than 13,000 inhabitants which benefits from a pleasant climate, numerous services, facilities, shops and tourist accommodation, as well as a rich cultural and natural heritage, including the Lake of Monteux. For many years, it has chosen to build on this strength and to invest in modern, high-end sports facilities, which has made it stand out in the region.   The fencing hall is located within the Saint Hilaire Sports Centre, itself located at the entrance to the city and equipped with a dojo, indoor and outdoor tennis courts and football pitches.   Inaugurated in 2013, this fencing hall has been given national priority by the French Fencing Federation. Equipped with eleven metal platforms, six of which are for competitions and five for training, the fencing hall meets all the requirements of high-level practice. The building has spacious changing rooms and specific premises reserved for fencing, including a repair unit.

Special features

Among its assets, the fencing hall is renowned for its modernity and was created in close consultation with Maître d’armes Marie-Chantal Demaille, a French fencing expert with multiple participations in the Olympic Games.

Its geographical location is ideal: close to the train station to facilitate travel to Avignon (TER) and Paris (TGV), close to a two-lane road leading to the motorway (A7) and one hour from Marseille Provence airport (Marignane).

In the heart of a very touristy region, the fencing hall is located approximately at 5 to 15 minutes from hotels and restaurants.

All these assets allow athletes to prepare themselves in good conditions but also to take advantage of the nearby touristy sites.
