Description

The Athletics Stadium is located in the heart of Roger Salengro Park, a 5-hectare green lung in the heart of an urban area and listed as a French historic monument. It is composed of various IAAF-approved equipment such as a 400M a track of 400M in basket handle composed of 8 corridors, jumpers in heights, has the pole, in length and triple jump, disc throwing cages, and hammers. The whole topped by four light towers to the standards allowing training and night competitions. In addition, the stadium’s layout is complemented by a timekeeping tower, a results display panel and a tower equipped with high-performance timekeeping. The synthetic coating of the track offers technical qualities worthy of professional tracks. Each year, the stadium hosts numerous events of national and international audiences such as the international meeting of the Artois. In the immediate vicinity of a vast hotel complex the domain of the hotel complex chartreuse offering a diversified full offer of accommodation, catering, and reception areas in the immediate vicinity of a leisure base itself. The same Olympic preparation centre and a fitness room adjoining the site and an art deco pool composed of two English-style pools.

It is a very quiet and wooded place set back from the main traffic routes. The whole site is classified as a French Art Deco heritage site. These facilities are completely secured surrounded by artificial and natural fences of a gym and tennis courts.

Every year, it hosts the international athletics meeting, which takes place every year in June or July, bringing together athletes representing more than 50 nationalities. This meeting is ranked 152nd World Meeting 2019.

Many athletes came to seek their qualifications for the various competitions such as Alexandra Tavernier and Mahiedine Mekhissi.

It is the training stadium of Hugues-Fabrice Zango Burkinabe athlete vice-champion of the world triple jump.

Each year, the stadium hosts more than 30 departmental and international events. The Club d’Artois athletics classified at the national level develops all its activities.
