Description

Located in the city centre, on the right bank of Brest, close to public transport (tram and bus), the Brest Métropole Recouvrance swimming pool was built for sports swimming with a covered 50 m pool (6 lanes), a small learner pool and a fitness area consisting of a spa and two saunas. The swimming pool benefits from a weights room with direct access to the pools. Electronic time-keeping displays can be installed on the lanes.

Special features

The Recouvrance pool is home to the Cercle Nautique Brestois, the region’s leading club.
The CNB celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2020 and includes a certified training centre for competitive and open water swimming.

Natural sites for open water swimming are located in Brest Bay,  less than 15 minutes away by car.

In 2016, open water swimmers (Aurélie MULLER and Marc ANTOINE) preparing for the games in Rio were able to benefit from the facilities at the pool and the natural areas in the bay.

Known for

The Recouvrance swimming pool hosts regional and local area competitions every year.
Rounds for the French cups in free-diving and swimming with fins are regularly held here.

Several well-known swimmers have used the facilities: Katarina QUELLENNEC (Sydney 2000 an Athens 2004), Gilles RONDY (Beijing 2008) and more recently Charlotte BONNET (London 2012).
