Description

Peninsula of the South Vendée Littoral, the municipality of Aiguillon-la-Presqu'île extends between the Atlantic seaboard on one side and the Lay estuary on the other, over an area of ​​15,680 km2 . The Commune, which has about fifteen kilometers of fine sandy beaches, is rich in an exceptional natural heritage of fauna and flora. It is one of the most popular summer seaside resorts on the Atlantic coast, renowned for sea sports. The town has a Municipal Nautical Center offering the possibility of practicing sand yachting. A Kite-Surf school is also open all year round and installed on the port of La Faute-sur-Mer. Teaching is done in shallow water at Pointe d'Arçay, connected by boat from the port. Atlantic Wake Park, located between the two bodies of water, offers many sliding activities, such as Wakeboard, Kneeboard, water skiing. Two water parks are installed in summer on the site. An important surf spot is located less than 10 km from the Centre, in which there are many surf and windsurf schools. L'Escapade Marine offers catamaran outings to discover unique remarkable sites on the Vendée and Charente coast. The town also has a 9-hole golf course, on the edge of which there is a restaurant, a bar, and a clubhouse. The town has a diversified offer of shops concentrated mainly on Avenue de la Plage.

It also has long and beautiful sandy beaches and a pleasant climate, which gives the town an important tourist attraction. The Atlantic Wake-Park also offers many possibilities for board sports, and constitutes a sought-after and renowned spot, located on the body of water near all amenities. With quality sports equipment, but also a large offer of accommodation, the town is one of the most popular places for sports tourists. Many restaurants are present in the town, in which national dishes and traditional cuisine are prepared. All trips around the Skate-Park de la Presqu’île can be done on foot.

Known for

On a sporting level, the town organizes many gatherings each year: skate contests national surf, billiard tournaments, golf competitions, pétanque competitions, -casting tournaments, etc. From a cultural point of view, during the summer season, many concerts are organized (about 100) by the municipality and local actors. The 24h Roller, organized each year at the beginning of June, welcomes many teams from all over France, and is one of the town’s flagship sporting events, along with the Aiguillon Triathlon.
