Description

Gargenville is a small rural town located at 28 miles (45 kilometers) west of Paris and belongs to the regional natural park of Vexin. The population is approximatively 7467 inhabitants. The town can be easily reached within one hour to 1,5 hour from three international airports (Roissy CDG, Orly Airport and Beauvais Airport). In 2020, among its 59 various club and associations, 2540 members are dispatched within the 29 sports clubs (the 29 others are cultural and leisure clubs). Thus, the various delegations will be welcomed in optimal conditions by dedicated staff. Two of the club teams play regional (Team 2 on regional 3 and Team 1 on regional 2, 5th national level) and every single club member is eager to welcome and help the delegation throughout their stay. The town has been rewarded by the “Ville Active et Sportive” program, getting one award in 2016 and two awards in 2018 (out of four). Both municipal and associative teams are used to set up and run sports and associative events All the sports infrastructures conform with the PMR regulation allowing them to welcome disabled persons and those with reduced mobility, in the best possible conditions.

  • The facility will be dedicated to the preparation center during the whole period, and accessible at any moment of the year.
  • Possibilty to access other facilities in order to ease the athletes accomodation like :
    • The dance studio located within the facility can be used as a relaxation space
    • A nearby fitness/weight room can be provided to the athletes
    • The municipal canteen is located 20 meters far from the facility
    • There are many and various possibilities to work out outdoor (woods, fields, parks…)

A 63 seats bus plus chauffeur, with handicap access ramp and two 9 seats minivans can be provided as a shuttle to allow the airport and hotel transferts or visits.

Known for

The facility is usually used by the city’s Basket Club. The club plays regional and gathers 200 licensees, all ages.
The municipal dance school (about 200 members) also organises its annual dance gala there.
The biggest event is the national Badminton tournament that welcomes each year (for more than ten years now) 160 athletes from 25 clubs coming all over France, Belgium and Luxembourg. The tournament is divided between three categories : men, women and mixed.
