Description

Equestrian pole of international reference located in the region the most densely populated with horses in France, Normandy.  It encompasses the Saint-Lô national stud which is recognised as being the birthplace of the Selle-Francais sport horse. It has numerous facilities totally dedicated to the sport horse allowing it to organise a multitude of equestrian competitions (show-jumping, dressage, carriage driving, horse-ball…). Covering 35 hectares, the pole is located within the urban zone of the Manche’s Prefecture town, Saint-Lô and therefore benefits from all amenities in the immediate vicinity (hotels, restaurants, well being, sports halls). Professionals including a farrier, an equine osteopath as well as a veterinary clinic and a saddler (manufacture and repairs) operate from the pole. The main indoor arena is authorized to accept people with reduced mobility. Detailed information about the activities developed at the pole are available at  http://www.polehippiquestlo.fr

Special features

Each and every arena surface has been conceived by France’s leading company in equestrian surfaces, Toubin et Clément. The pole is staffed by a team of professionals, true horsemen accustomed to welcoming top level riders and providing their grooms and horses with an adequate level of service. A (level 4) course designer who designs the courses at the leading equestrian events is based at close proximity to the site and can be solicited on request.

Known for

The annual organisation of several indoor or outdoor international show-jumping shows (2*, 3* and 4* CSI) welcoming 15 to 20 foreign delegations at each event. The French para-equestrian dressage championships are held here every year in the big indoor arena.  The French show-jumping and eventing teams regularly come to the site to jump before important World and European dates.  Numerous training courses aimed at professional riders are organised by the national federations, principally during the winter months.
