Description

Inaugurated in September 2015, La Plaine des Sports Grigore-Obreja bears the name of the man who was director of the town's sports department, world champion in canoeing in 2008 in Mexico City, and Olympic medalist in Atlanta in 1996.Following the excellent results obtained by Buchelay for several years in the martial arts, the municipal equipment, sized to meet the requirements of the competitions, was produced to meet the growing needs of members of sports associations and clubs - from around a hundred to more than a thousand in seven years - as well as to the school activities of the municipality. Located near the A13 Paris-Normandy motorway, the Plaine des Sports Grigore-Obreja has a 650 m² dojo, including three combat areas. The hall, which leaves plenty of outside light through its bay windows, is also equipped with two changing rooms for refereeing as well as two changing rooms, men and women. The Plaine des Sports Grigore-Obreja participates in a strong public policy and the desire to encourage sport, based on the conviction that sport is an essential issue, through its impacts on public health, on the social and generational bond, by learning to make an effort and respect the rules, especially in the disciplines provided there.

Special features

It is equipped with a 180 m² dance hall and a fitness room 250m shape, with its own changing rooms.

The entire building, built around metal and wood, is eco-responsible in terms of energy: the roof houses 135m² of photovoltaic panels; rainwater from the car park and the building is used for the sanitary purposes of the equipment.

La Plaine des Sports Grigore-Obreja hosts many sports events but also solidarity events. As part of the month against breast cancer, Pink October, it is, every two years, the start and finish point for walks that bring together more than a thousand participants.
