Description

Situated to the north of Pau, these three facilities are located 2 minutes from each other on the Plaine des Sports du Cami Salié. They are located 17 minutes from the train station and the city centre of Pau and 10 minutes from the airport. The entrance to the A64 motorway is 3 minutes away, which allows easy and fast access. La Plaine is also served by public transport. There is a very large parking capacity of around 1,700 spaces. Special features

Situated close to a natural environment that favours tranquillity (Bastard forest), a 300-hectare area open to the public offers a network of 10 km of paths for walking, running, mountain biking and horse riding.

A water fitness area (Calicéo), used by the teams during training courses and events, is also located near the sports ground.

Finally, the Cami Salié sports ground is also composed of rugby, basketball and other sports fields which makes it very complete.

This sports sector is not far from the commercial areas: 3 to 5 minutes.

Palais des Sports:

It is the lair of the Elan Béarnais Pau Orthez who drives an Elite Jeep.

Hosting of major international events (boxing, judo, tennis, volleyball, handball and basketball).

World Volleyball Tournament in 2018.

French team handball and basketball matches.

Basketball preparation base camp for the French basketball teams since 2009 before the major competitions.

 

Tennis club of Pau :

Since 2019, base and training camp of the Terrega Open Pau Pyrenees (ATP 100 tournament).

Organisation of tournaments and departmental finals.

The site hosts the Tennis Club de Pau which offers the practice of baby tennis up to the competition school.

 

Pelota complex:

26th World Championships of Basque Pelota in 2010.

International competition of cesta punta.

The Club of the Paloise Pelota Section uses this equipment to initiate and train young people and adults in the competition of Basque pelota.

 

The site can accommodate other disciplines such as fencing, dance and combat sports.

French Fencing Championships (2012, 2014, 2017, 2018).

Cross-border fencing competitions (2019).
