Halle aux sports Nicole ABAR: inaugurated in March 2017, this sports facility consists of an Artificial Climbing Room of 150m², a gymnastics evolution room of 256m², a sports plateau of 1056m² and a grandstand with 573 seats. (1 refreshment room, 1 administrative room, 1 meeting room, 1 anti-doping room, 6 players' locker rooms, 2 referees' locker rooms, 1 infirmary, 2 equipment storage rooms, 1 janitor's lodge complete the complex). The floor of the large room is a wooden floor (Combiflex Woodflex in 5 layers), traced SNEP-FSU. Its geographical location with direct access from the highway via the ring road, 5 minutes from the Carcassonne West toll booth. Its accessibility for people with disabilities with a car access ramp that leads to the door of the establishment. Special features

The Nicole ABAR Sports Hall is located in the green lung of the city along the river Aude and near (300m) an Aqualudic Center which opened its doors in June 2021. Inside this center you will have the possibility of accessing the Hammam, sauna, jacuzzi. 2mn from the city center where all the accommodation and restaurant facilities are available. The nearest restaurant is located less than 500m from the Hall and is accessible to disabled persons.

In 2017, the French Handball Team played against various other teams in the qualifying matches for the Wheelchair Rugby World Cup.

The Handball club of Carcassonne which evolves in Pre-National is the resident club of the Halle Nicole ABAR.
