The city of Schiltigheim owns the Nelson Mandela Sports Centre. This sports centre is used by schools, middle schools, high schools and associations. Each week, the centre is used by more than 3,000 people. The building’s total surface area is 6,500 m²!   It includes:

  • A reception hall of 147 m²
  • A multi-sport hall B (basketball) of 640 m² with 2 change rooms / showers and 178 seats in the stands
  • A Dojo with a floor space of 204 m², 2 change rooms / showers and 72 seats in the stands
  • A 210 m² body expression room with 2 change rooms / showers and mirrors on 2 consecutive walls
  • A multi-sport hall A (handball, fencing, badminton) of 979 m² with 12 fencing courts, 2 change rooms / showers and 346 seats in the stands
  • A climbing room with a 210 m² climbing wall (24 possible routes) and 2 change rooms / showers
  • A table tennis room of 1,092 m² with 15 tables set up with dividers, 3 change rooms / showers and 399 seats in the stands (1 x 186 S and 1 x 213 S)
  • A 39 m² seminar room
  • User-friendly offices and spaces.
  • A festive hall of 120 m² with an equipped kitchen.

The sports centre is located opposite the tram stop “Le Marais” on line B.

The closest hotels can be reached on foot in under 5 minutes.

On this line of the tram B, you are 20 minutes from the centre of Strasbourg.

All rooms and premises are equipped with RJ45 internet connections.

Wi-Fi is available in the 3 big rooms, Multi-sport A, B and Table Tennis.

There is also a sound system throughout the building, that can broadcast messages in all rooms and circulation areas, or zone by zone.

Known for

Every year, the ” Eurominichamp’s ” international table tennis competition brings together more than 800 young competitors.

Also every year, the Badminton Club organises a major international competition.

The Portuguese handball team came for preparatory training.

Each year, various cultural and sporting events are held.
