Description

The specific venue is perfect in terms of playing conditions : Big area of practice, Gerflor taraflex ITTF floor, brightness with high uniformity coefficient, no deceptive light by total concealment of openings, new tables and barriers. The training hall has premium Butterfly ball-throwing robots. Novelty that will be added in 2022: a club house, new changing rooms, relaxation room, massage room, meeting room… Near the table tennis center, the aquatic center with its saunas and hammams as well as the physical preparation center make the move from one place to another very easy. Efficient hospital very close to the site. Two hours from Paris by train, one hour to the nearest Caen airport and one hour from the sea. Regarding high-level Disabled Sports, the preparation center’s local club has also the particularity of having a good knowledge and experience of Disabled Sports. Indeed, in addition of having in its ranks Florian Merrien, member of the French team and Bronze medalist at the latest Paralympics Games, the President is Emeric MARTIN, several times Paralympics medalist. The current club’s sports manager has been head coach for the Table Tennis Disabled  French Team for 6 years. All these arguments to demonstrate that  Argentan’s Center has undeniable assets and a real sensitivity to the needs of TT for the Disabled. In this logic, the Argentan Club organizes the Teams French Championships in June 2021.

Special features

International table tennis players who don’t belong to the big delegations (China…) can use the local club’s training center, the “Bayard d’Argentan”. This training center, known and recognized internationally, has been programing daily trainings for and by professionals for many years.

Besides the PRO Argentan group, team regulars from other “Pro Clubs” come, either on a training camp, or on a yearly basis.

4 trainers and professional coaches are based in Argentan and answer to the needs of high-level practice.

The “CPJ Argentan TT” had the honor to welcome the international Russian Guseva in January 2021. Her visit launched the “CPJ Argentan” for the 2021/2024 Olympiad.

Known for

Thanks to the fame of the Argentan club, many national team members come, either to play in competition or to train and prepare for international competitions.

International players who have been able or can appreciate the optimal conditions: Belorussia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Ecuador, Spain, France, Italy, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru, Russia, Sweden.

Several notorious progressions and national titles or international podiums have been recorded in recent years. The most recent was Gadiev’s flattering individual title of Champion of Russia, who had chosen to train in Argentan, to join the Russian team.

After 3 years in Argentan, he achieved a meteoric progression by obtaining a surprising silver medal in 2018, and the title of Champion of Russia in 2019.
