Description

The stadium is located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur region in Aix-en-Provence, south of France. A dynamic city where residents enjoy a great lifestyle. Also known to be the homeland of historic painter Paul Cézanne who derived his inspiration from the beautiful scenery and  rich cultural heritage. This city provides a large and varied choice of hotel packages combined with well-developed and accessible public transportations system. Furthermore, Aix-en-Provence is at the crossroads of different highways strategically connecting Northern France, Spain and Italy. The proximity of the city centre to major transportation hubs makes the city accessible for both visitors and residents. The Aix-TGV station in 15 minutes from the city downtown and offers direct connections to Paris in only three hours’ travel time;  also the international airport Marseille Provence is a quick 25 minute commute to the city. And finally, it is also possible to access the region  by sea given its close proximity to the port of Marseille. As for health services, the Aix-Marseille Provence medical centre is considered one of the most efficient and advanced in France. The swimming pool and gymnasium in the immediate vicinity allows for various training places. It is also easily accessible from the historic centre via a high-level electric bus corridor.

Our rugby stadium is home to the Provence Rugby Club, a professional ProD2 team from the National Rugby League. It has all the features to meet the requirements of professional rugby practice, both for competition and team training. Equipped with many multipurpose rooms and lounges to accommodate different configurations for the media, press, events and seminars. Optimal comfort is also ensured by the nearby hotel which offers many discounted promotions and regularly hosts professional teams.

Known for

The Maurice David Stadium was approached for several years to be the hub for international competition: All Blacks base camp at the 2007 Rugby World Cup and France’s XV training camp for the 6 Nations tournament match against Italy in 2018.

In addition to PRO D2 meetings, the Maurice David Stadium hosts international competitions such as the U-20 games in the 6 Nations tournament and the final of the Rugby European Cup «La Challenge Cup» in fall 2020.
