Description

The dojo « Matthieu Bataille » of Etaples sur mer (department of the Pas-de-Calais, in northern France) is the dojo in south of the Opal Coast, where a number of Champion are from. Located near the Marina, the invigorating sea air of Etaples/mer has been successful for the Judokas, by their results, which are the pride of the town. The 736 m2 dojo has 2 tatamis with a total of 328 m2 surface, with gym area, a sauna, 2 sports changing rooms and also one for the staff. There is a retractable stand of 180 seats. The dojo has the advantage to be situated at the first floor and totally closed on sight. So, you can train without being disturbed. Special features

The highway, the train station d’Etaples/mer and the airport of Le Touquet Côte d’Opale are at less than 5 minutes, it’s an indisputable asset in terms of accessibility.

Etaples/mer has the advantage of having everything at a short distance and thus, you can circulate, if you wish, by foot throughout the city.

The city center is less than a kilometer away and you have access to many restaurants and to all amenities: banks, shops, cash machine…

On the sports side, just next the dojo, you can go to a football stadium, a sailing school and a wood where you can go for hiking trails and capable of “recharging you batteries” and reconnecting you with nature, also thanks to the Natural Reserve of the Baie de Canche whose starting point is located at 500 meters.

Known for

The dojo « Matthieu Bataille » has already had the honor of being a preparation center for the London 2012 Olympic Games. It had received, on this occasion, The French women’s and men’s teams who had come to train just before joining England.

Since that great moment, the French teams have become a accustomed to train here, like other major national teams for example the PSG or the Racing Club de France in preparation for major events.

All these teams were seduced by the charm of the town of Etaples/mer and its assets. Without a doubt, the dojo of Etaples/mer brings luck to the judokas who frequent it 😉.
