The Martial Arts Centre (Morbihan) is located in Ploërmel, an average town of 10,000 inhabitants located 15 minutes from the Brocéliande forest, 30 minutes from the Gulf of Morbihan and 45 minutes from Rennes Bretagne airport and easily accessible by expressways. Coming to Ploërmel means you can enjoy a temperate climate all year round, you have nature nearby while being peaceful for the athletes. Green countryside, towpath along the Nantes-Brest canal, permanent mountain biking and running circuits... So many magical and attractive places to train in a preserved natural environment. This high-level sports centre is located walking distance from the city centre, the Lac au Duc and the local hospital, as well as 3 and 4 star accommodation. The Martial Arts Center which opened in September 2008, offers users a 4000 square metres site that is bright and modern. This site, which has a full PA system, also has different halls for the best organization of training sessions and competitions. The main room is made up of 5 tatamis, for a total area of 576 sq metres (48m by 12m), and has 500 seats. The center size makes it possible to have several complementary equipments at the same place, without having to move outside.
First of all, a small meeting room allows the staff to organize and follow the athletes training sessions. In addition to the main room, a preparation room is composed of one tatami (13m x 12m), climbing ropes, punch bags and fall mats. In addition, a 380 sq metres weights room is equipped with all the useful equipment: rowing machines, elliptical trainers, fitness mats, bikes and all the specific machines for body-building. Finally, a 230 sq metres multifunction room has furniture for setting up meetings and conferences (tables, chairs, video projector and white screen) and can also be used for meals thanks to an equipped kitchen.
The Martial Arts Centre hosted the Brittany National Open Jujitsu Combat and Technique on March 2, 2017 and a national jujitsu camp in April 2019 organized by the Federation. It is today, and by convention, the Departmental DOJO. As a result, it is a place that is identified to hold departmental and regional competitions, but also a place where young people training camps are organized during the school holidays of Toussaint, February and Easter.
