Description

The Margotière sporting complex facilities: 400 meter track with 8 lanes 1 national standard BMX track 3 Pumptracks   Tiered seating: Seats 350 and gives directly onto the 400-meter track. Parking: More than 250 parking spaces divided between a public carpark and a private space for site users. Conference rooms adaptable for timing facilities. Gym with cardiovascular and weights machines.  There is also an anti-doping space. Multiple large storage spaces can be made available for equipment. Municipal catering services close to the site. Catering services also available at the CFA (Center of Apprentice Training) or Lycée Agricole (Agricultural High School). Around 50 restaurants in the Chateauroux district within a 15 minutes’ drive. Access to the site can be restricted. Entirely enclosed site. The site is not yet adapted for full disabled access, particularly for the throwing surfaces; however, work is planned to remedy this.

Special features

The site will be totally accessible for those with reduced mobility, both spectators and athletes.

La Margotière combines sporting and administrative needs, making it possible to train and analyze performance.

This site combines all the facilities necessary for high-level sports training: tracks, surfaces, anti-doping space, gym, meeting rooms etc.

La Margotière has powerful floodlights for night training.

Known for

The center hosts national level events every two years: French masters and youth championships.  As well as other contests and meets. Half-marathons and road races have also been organized using the site as a base.

The quality of the installation means that there is already interest from Olympic delegations.
