Description

The preparation center proposed by the City of Levallois offers many advantages to meet the expectations of the delegations that will come to compete at the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics. In addition to its proximity to the French capital, which is accessible in a few minutes walking or directly by subway, the two sports facilities that make up the area have been designed to allow sports to be practised under optimal conditions. The Marcel Cerdan Sports Center and the Eric Srecki Gymnasium, located in front of each other in a quiet street close to the banks of the Seine river, form a complex perfectly suited to receiving Olympics and Paralympics delegations. These sporting facilities are equipped with training rooms, meeting and press conference rooms, a physiotherapy room with a cryotherapy pool, two infirmaries, a hammam (steam room) and a sauna. These two buildings are opened from 7am to 11.30pm, 7 days a week, but this time range can be extended depending on the events organised. Each year, they welcome an average of 648,850 visitors. These two facilities also benefit from a particularly favourable environment with, within a radius of less than five minutes walking, a subway station, a luxury hotel with 338 rooms, a public car park with 356 spaces and a hospital offering a complete range of care, with an emergency service opened 24 hours a day. The athletes will therefore be in perfect conditions to prepare for the most important competition of their career.

Special features

The City’s Sports Facilities Department is in charge of the reception, maintenance and surveillance of the sites, as well as the assembling and disassembling of sports events.

The Levallois Preparation Center has a team of 16 agents and 2 managers who will be at the delegations’ disposal to facilitate their installation and venue on site. These agents are trained in reception, cleaning and hygiene, which they ensure through their checks throughout the day, as well as in safety rules, with a staff trained and dedicated to building safety.

The Sports Facilities Department has recognised expertise in events and logistics and is able to adapt court and room configurations with great responsiveness
to delegations’ requests.

Known for

The Marcel Cerdan Sports Center has been the scene of twenty world boxing championships and has hosted the greatest boxers.

Some of its former champions have also set up prestigious events such as Jean-Philippe Gatien’s Table Tennis Grand Prix de Levallois, which pitted the best players on the world circuit against each other, or Frédéric Delpla’s Masters of Swords, which brought together the world’s eight best fencing players. In 2008, a unique competition also came to Levallois with the World Judo Championships for all categories, in which the Olympic champion Teddy Riner participated.

More recently, in January 2020, the NBA chose Marcel Cerdan to host training sessions of both Charlotte Hornets and Milwaukee Bucks before their regular NBA season game in Paris.
