Sailing

Description

Located on the beach in the heart of the Fréjus-Plage district, the nautical base Marc Modena is a building dating from 2018, ideally built near a port of facility where it is possible to store coaches’ safety boats. The buildings have a surface area of 910 m2 including 8 changing rooms, toilets and a meeting room equipped with a video projector. The structure also has a section accessible 24 hours a day via digital code (which allows more flexibility on the organization of a training program).

The bay of Fréjus – Saint Raphaël is well-knowed for the quality of its body of water favorable to the practice of all disciplines present at the Olympic Games, the sailing conditions close to those encountered on the Olympic sites favor traning and acclimatization of athletes. The quality of the infrastrucutres and their combination are a real advantage for a serene competition :

• Quality accommodation including weight rooms, latest generation thalassotherapy, swimming pool, etc.

Known for

The city of Fréjus has always been sea-oriented. The organization of regattas or sporting events has always been carried out jointly with various entities of the municipality to bring life and dynamism to our water body.

Here is a sampling of our past events:

• Long distance “Fréjus windcup” from 2000 to 2004
• Final League (various dinghy sailing supports) 2005
• European kitesurfing championship 2009 and 2010
• Windsurf meeting during the “Frejus windsurf festival” in 2001 (presence of the Olympic champion)
• One stage of the French kitesurf speed crossing championship in 2013
• “Affoilante” week (all types of gear on foil) from 2017 to 2020

And of course the organization of keelboat league or bassin regattas and also dinghy and windsurfing regattas every year.
