First winegrowing village in the Côtes de Nuits Saint Georges, at the entrance of The Climats, vineyards of Burgundy listed in the UNESCO World Heritage; welcome in Chenôve, the second town of the Dijon Metropolis / Greater London. Chenôve is only 30 minutes far from the Dole Choisey airport, 2 hours from Lyon with the motorway network and 95 minutes from Paris by train. The city really enjoys a perfect location. For more than 25 years Chenôve has been able to mark its desire/will to make sport one of its priorities by developing genuine sports savoir-faire that are widely recognized. Chenôve was elected the most sports-minded town in France in 1999 among cities with more than 3000 inhabitants. In 2018 it was awarded 3 stars at the National Label “Active and Sports-minded City” and lately it was elected the most sports-minded city in the Burgundy and Franche Comté region thanks to the large sports supply but also thanks to its numerous good/qualitative sports facilities. The public transport system and the tramway network enables sports facilities to be linked together and give Chenôve an obvious urban appeal but it is also combined to a genuine “Green Lung”. The Plateau de Chenôve is a very important natural heritage. The 200-hectare site is classified Natura 2000 where it’s possible to practice many outdoor sports. Known for

Chenôve is a land of sports which today welcomes many international athletes – Paul Lalire at athletics, Guillerm and Chloé Haberkorn at orienteering, Christine Gauthé at archery.

Five out of the nineteen sports clubs in the city perform at a national level every weekend in our sports facilities – gymnastics (several athletes), volleyball (one team), basketball (four teams), boules (one team), swimming (several athletes).

Two support clubs daily train elite pole girls performing at a national level in the Mail gymnasium for basketball and in the Curel gymnasium for gymnastics.

Finally, we have often welcomed foreign delegations, like the Algerian team of tumbling and trampoline for preparation courses and we have often organized competitions at a national level (boules, gymnastics, synchronized swimming…)
