The Mado Bonnet Arena is home to Lyon's women's basketball team. Presided over by Tony Parker and Marie-Sophie Obama, Lyon ASVEL Féminin is the beating heart of this neighborhood, located just 10 minutes from the historic city centre. Close to accommodation facilities at Lyon's Centre International de Séjour and the TP Academy, this arena offers all the comfort required for sports training, including an FIBA-approved floor. Just a stone's throw from the Maison de la Danse, with its internationally renowned cultural programme, the Mado Bonnet Arena plays host to the women's top basketball teams throughout the year, as well as to many upcoming local players.
The site can be converted to accommodate a catering facility that is exclusively dedicated to the resident team. The premises can also accommodate video training rooms and areas for physical and medical preparation.
The large bay windows can be completely blacked out for absolute confidentiality, whilst window displays can publicise the resident team. Adjacent parking facilitates the 45-minute drive to the airport and local travel.
In 2019, the venue hosted the play-offs of the French Women’s Basketball Championship, won by the resident team, ASVEL Féminin, in the 5th game, following a thrilling match in an incredible atmosphere. It has recently been used for preparatory training sessions for the French national basketball teams, as well as occasionally hosting boxing events.
