Sport climbing

Description

Located in the heart of a former industrial wasteland of more than 30 hectares and 100,000 m2 of building, the number 313 has been rehabilitated to become an indoor multi-sport complex. This sports hall of 11000m² includes 1 climbing pole (described in the + , 1 athletics pole with a track of 200 meters, jumps for pole, height, length, the triple jump, a one-pole, weight-throwing area for basketball, handball, badminton and volleyball, with two multi-sport courts.

Special features

The site has a climbing pole among the largest in Europe, with an Artificial Climbing Structure (SAE) allowing the simultaneous practice of the three Olympic disciplines: speed, difficulty and block. The wall for difficulty is 51 metres long and 19 metres high, with 9,000 outlets and 50 lanes in addition to the 2 lanes for speed. The block area is 42 metres long and 4.5 metres high. Finally, the dimensions of the initiation wall, which also serves as a warm-up wall during competitions, are as follows: 20 metres long and 4.5 metres high.

Mickaël MAWEM (5th at the last Olympic Games in Tokyo) came on training from 8 to 11 November 2022

The Meeting team was present twice during a week. Corsica and the U21 France team also travelled for a 7-day training course.

At the level of the competitions in 2022, May 7 and 8 were held the regional championships of difficulty occitanie and on May 15 the selective team of France of speed.  In 2023, we will organise the regional block championships on 7 and 8 January and the French difficulty championships on 10 and 11 June.
