Description

The Vélodrome de Bretagne is located in the heart of the Brittany region, less than 3 hours from Paris. It can be reached by plane (arriving at Paris, Rennes and Nantes airports) or by train (arriving at Paris, Rennes and Nantes stations), combined with a road trip to Loudéac. The velodrome is part of a sports complex that also includes a swimming pool, a sports hall and an athletics track. Other national-scale sports facilities are located within less than an hour's drive of major towns in Brittany. The velodrome is designed for track cycling and is ready to welcome Olympic and Paralympic athletes. It features a 200-meter wooden track and 500-seat grandstands. Its central area can also be used for other indoor sports: badminton, basketball, fencing, gymnastics, handball, tennis, volleyball... The facility also features a weight room, cryotherapy cabin, infirmary, massage rooms, video room, changing rooms, offices, meeting room, anti-doping room, preparation/repair workshops, storage areas and sanitary facilities. Special features

Brittany and our region are organized and have the accommodation and catering capacity to be “host lands” for national and international sporting delegations.

The Vélodrome de Bretagne is central to Brittany. Within a radius of less than an hour, you can benefit from optimal accommodation conditions in hotels, hostels, etc.

Catering is also available in the immediate vicinity.

The proximity of other sports facilities (swimming pool, athletics track, nautical base, etc.) and natural sites (Lac de Guerlédan, Aquarev in Loudéac, etc.) are all ideal for recovery or physical preparation.

Also of note is the presence of the Centre Bretagne sports medicine technical platform, based at the Noyal-Pontivy hospital, which specializes in cycling.

Known for

The velodrome opened in September 2023. It can accommodate track cyclists, from amateurs to top-level athletes.

The programming of national and international competitions will contribute to the reputation of this facility, as will the hosting of an endurance track cycling “pôle espoir”.

The French Cycling Federation is also committed to promoting national events on the site. The 200-metre wooden track is approved for all types of competition, with the exception of certain world championship events.

As a “land of cycling”, Brittany is home to internationally renowned cycling teams, ranked in the pro continental rankings, and regularly trains talented track and road cyclists. The Vélodrome de Bretagne is proud to be sponsored by two local champions: Audrey CORDON RAGOT and Alexandre LEAUTE.
