Lac-de-Maine/ Josette-et-Roger-Mikulak sports park is right by Angers city centre and Angers Saint-Laud train station (10mins by car). Lac-de-Maine sports park (also known as Josette-et-Roger-Mikulak sports park) covers 140,000m², with an athletics stadium (IAAF approved) and a special high-level hockey pitch, allowing you to train in the best possible conditions. There are also 5 football pitches (4 grass pitches and 1 hybrid grass), two open-air tennis courts, a dojo (Pays de la Loire Regional Centre) and outbuildings. It is possible to travel by public transport (bus). There is a car park nearby for motorists. Close to all shops and Angers University Hospital.

In a peaceful environment surrounded by nature, the Lac-de-Maine Sports Park is organised around four hubs: the Nautical Centre, Ethic Etapes (accomodation facilities for sports groups) capable of accommodating up to 158 people and accessible to people with disabilities, the Maison de l’environnement (for public awareness related to nature) and a four-star campsite. It extends over 220 hectares, 110 hectares of which are occupied by the lake itself, and is an exceptional site much appreciated by visitors and inhabitants from Angers alike.

1 km away, the 4-star Mercure Angers Lac de Maine hotel offers optimal comfort with many options on site. The hotel includes a restaurant with a capacity of 200 people, which can accommodate special diets and has an acess for people with disabilities.

Known for

Lac-de-Maine sports park hosts numerous national and international sporting events. The sports park is equipped with a stadium that is well-known at national and international levels. With its dynamic network of associations, the City of Angers has shown its ability to bring together all sports operators in order to organise great events for French athletics : the French Cadet and Junior Athletics Championships in 2019, the Inter-Company Relay Marathon, the French Elite Championships (since 2009) and the DecaNation hosted in 2014 and 2017.

The renewal of the partnership agreement concluded with the French Athletics Federation (FFA) in the context of the 2021-2024 Olympiad follows on from the previous agreements, the first of which dates back to 2008.  The City of Angers will host the Elite French Championships before the Olympic Games (including those of 2021 and probably 2024).
