Description

Located 2.5 hours from Paris by train, or 3.5 hours by car, not far from the commune of Cholet, La Stella’s facilities are devoted exclusively to table tennis. The venue was created in 2013 for the La Romagne professional team, used to competing internationally and crowned European champions in 2017. Practical, modern and designed for table tennis of the highest level, it is the envy of many regions and clubs. Looked after by trained staff familiar with performance requirements, it has become the location of choice for many table tennis players on the world circuit to train and compete. The facilities are tailored to the needs of table tennis players and cover every base when it comes to providing competitors with optimal conditions for their Olympic or Paralympic preparation, while also enabling them to enjoy the famous "sweetness of Anjou". Thanks to a partnership established with the other major centre for table tennis in Maine-et-Loire (based in Angers, 45 minutes away by car) where professional team and European champions Les Loups d’Angers plays, hosted delegates can access additional services alongside a comprehensive training base.

Special features

The calm and peaceful environment, the quality and flexibility of the facilities and the chance to train with international players of different nationalities are all real assets.

The centre is well-situated for nearby medical services and is supported by a variety of high quality accommodation and dining options. In reducing the need for travel, the collective accommodation available on site is another bonus.

Located 15 minutes from Angers, this training base allows access to Anjou’s historic treasures and provides delegates with wonderful opportunities for tourism, culture and sport. At around an hour from the sea, the Vendée’s beaches are easily accessible.

Known for

The La Stella La Romagne venue is home to the French and European champions “La Stella Sport La Romagne Tennis de Table”. Opened in 2013 by Jacques Secrétin (multi-medal-winning champion on the international scene in the 80s), the venue lives and breathes table tennis and becomes a real cauldron of emotion when the Pro A championship matches are on.

It was recently the scene of some very high level sporting fixtures fought by players from La Romagne to become European and French champions in 2017 and 2018.

The venue organises training sessions all year round, bringing together the best table tennis players in the area. The accommodation and catering facilities available on site are very popular with managerial staff.
