Description

Inaugurated in 2013, the Briqueterie (brickyard) facility is entirely dedicated to dance, and was granted the National Centre for Choreographic development (« CDCN ») label by the Ministry of Culture and Communication. Every day, it hosts French and international choreographers and professional dancers. The Briqueterie supports the choreographic production and research, distribution of the works, cultural outreach for populations, dancers ‘training and occupational integration. The Briqueterie also develops ambitious cultural projects based on cooperation within channels of various scopes, national, European and worldwide. - Association des Centres de Développement Chorégraphique Nationaux (Association of National choreographic Development Centres) - ARVIVA - Arts vivants, arts durables, pour une révolution verte de la Culture (Performing, Live sustainable arts for a green cultural revolution) - Aerowaves, for a European community of emerging choreographies - European Dancehouse Network, for a European collaboration around dance - IETM - International Network for Performing Arts

Special features

At the gates of Paris, the Briqueterie is a wide 3500 sq.meters facility within the range of a bus, tram or subway trip, at the junction between Vitry sur Seine and Ivry sur Seine towns on the Paris belt.

An artistic residency, the Briqueterie is hosting every year 60 to 90 professional dance companies. The most coveted events taking place at the facility are The Val de Marne Dance Biennale and « Exentriques »
