Description

The Lac Kir Centre is in the west of Dijon, the capital of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. The centre has three different sites with excellent training conditions, with a 37-hectare body of water set among 30 hectares of certified eco-gardens, ten minutes from the historic town centre. It is surrounded by a beach, sports facilities, beach volleyball courts, food services, a cycle track, and starting points for hiking and mountain bike paths. The centre includes the following facilities:

  • The Lac Kir Watersports Centre
  • 3 beach volleyball courts on the beaches along Lac Kir
  • 12 clay tennis courts near the Watersports Centre
  • 1 swimming pool and the municipal sports school
The following sports can be practiced here: beach volleyball, canoe-kayak sprint, tennis, wheelchair tennis and Olympic and Paralympic triathlons. The Watersports Centre is currently undergoing a major refurbishment project. Accessibility : 10 minutes from the town centre and 25 minutes from the vocational sports training centre (CREPS), it is accessible by soft modes of transport: cycle paths, the green track (Voie Verte) that connects the centre of Dijon to the Ouche Valley, and public transport. The site is also accessible by car.

Proximity to the Île-de-France region : 1h 35m TGV train daily, in the middle of rail and motorway networks, boasting highly effective support facilities, expertise and an excellent standard of living.

Optimal training conditions thanks to the environment and air quality as Dijon is the urban area with the lowest level of fine particulate air pollution in France.

Lac Kir hosts many outdoor activities.

The Dijon Triathlon, a certified sustainable triathlon that starts from Lac Kir every year with several different course types. The long-distance version counts towards the Tricup ranking.

Hosted the French canoe-kayak sprint champions on 15 July 2018.

Hosted the men’s final of the Beach Volleyball Coupe de France 29-30 August 2020.
