Description

Located in the heart of a cross-border region, Close to Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium, the Olympic swimming pool of the Forbach Community of Aglomeration has an Olympic pool of 50m with eight corridors, a diving pit (1x1m springboard, 1x3m springboard, a 5m platform), a children's pool (1.30m) and an adult pool (1.40m) with flat bottom (www.piscine-forbach.fr/piscine/). https://youtu.be/mFWRLLdG3Tw A relaxation area (privatized) is offered with saunas, steam room and jaccuzi. Two individual treatment cabins: balneotherapy and massage bed complete the equipment. The resort located in Forbach is served by the A4 motorway (Paris-Strasbourg) and the A6 motorway (from Germany). The Forbach metropolitan area is only 1h40 from Paris and 2 h from Frankfurt thanks to the train high-speed line. Multiple flight connections are offered with four airports nearby: Sarrebruck in Germany (20 km), Metz-Nancy-Lorraine (75 km), Luxembourg (95 km) and Frankfurt-Hahn in Germany (120 km). Major renovations to the pool are currently underway (end of work in June 2022). It will therefore be ready from 2022 for the reception of athletes who will benefit from modern facilities and optimal operating conditions. Special features

200m from the pool, a 3-star hotel with restaurant and several parking solutions nearby including an 80-seat car park, accessible to buses. The pool site is secured by video-protection, has very high-speed Internet (optical fiber) and Wi-Fi.

The swimming pool allows to adapt its spaces to multiple needs in terms of recovery and preparation (including an infirmary). A meeting room with video projection is available. On-site restoration is possible. Presence of a large green space.

The city centre and its amenities are less than a mile away. An athletics stadium and a wooded park with training circuits available (running, trail, etc.) are accessible near the pool. Private gym clubs are present.

Known for

Forbach Pool won the first National Grand Prix of Contemporary Sports Architecture in 1987.

In 1989, she hosted the French swimming championships but also many international swimmers in preparation courses, including local swimmer Sophie Huber, who qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics games. The Jean-Eric Bousch pool also organised in 2013 the French Handisport Regional Championships, the French Youth Championships in 2010 and numerous international meetings and national and regional competitions in various disciplines.
