The Complexe Sportif Jacques Marinelli is located in the heart of Melun. Melun is a city in the countryside situated along the Seine and near the Fontainebleau Forest. At 20mn from Paris by train, Melun enables to take advantage of all the touristic aspects in the Ile-de-France region. The Complexe Sportif offers an enjoyable setting that favours training since it is near the Seine and other sports facilities such as the olympic-size Swimming pool, the Tennis club and the Rowing basin. It is located at 10mn from Melun Station (1km) on foot so that you can go to Paris by commuter train in 25mn.

The proximity of the motorway A5 is an unquestionnable advantage as you can drive to Paris in one hour (50km), to Orly airport in 45mn (38km) or to Charles de Gaulle airport in one hour (67km).

It happened in the Nautical Circle :

The century regatta : organized in one day with finals run at night in the heart of Melun, the regatta of the century hosted boats from all over France (Toulouse, Nantes for example) for women’s rowing quadruple sculls or men’s eight match races.

The finals competed at night on the basin lit for the event and a musical atmosphere performed by a DJ were very close races to the great pleasure of the spectators and the athletes.

Regional head race of Melun : for several years the Cercle Nautique hosted during the winter season a single scull time trial to complete the preparation of athletes. More than 400 boats on the pound of the Seine for a 6 000m course with an open basin.

All the clubs of Ile-de-France liked the regatta, which was an essential crossing point in the training of the rowing crews.
