Description

Sélestat, capital of Center Alsace, is located on the Colmar-Strasbourg axis. Very dynamic and sporty city since it was rewarded with the prestigious trophy of the “most sporting city in France” in 2010. The community has an Intercommunal Sports Center with high level equipment including several multi-purpose rooms. -sports. The largest has around 2,000 seats in which the Sélestat Alsace Handball operates on a 44x28 surface with double joist parquet which provides exceptional cushioning for top athletes. https://www.cc-selestat.fr/services/lesequipements-sportifs/centre-sportif-intercommunal.html All the equipment meets the standards for People with Reduced Mobility. A second piece of equipment, the Charlemagne sports area, which is just as complete, will be coming out of the ground very soon. The CSI is easily accessible by public transport: by bus (the delegation can travel by hybrid bus via a local company) and by train whose nearby station is served by the TGV. Quickly accessible also via the motorway crossing Alsace, the CSI has a car park with a capacity of 600 places. Finally, two airports within an hour of Sélestat serve the region. The rescue organization in Sélestat is made up of a fire station, a police station, a gendarmerie, a local police force as well as a hospital center with a helipad area, all in within 5 minutes of sports facilities.

Known for

This equipment welcomes in its midst the Sélestat Alsace Handball playing, this year, in the French ProLigue Championship (2nd national division). This club has, in the past, also known the Starligue (1st national division).

The CSI regularly hosts international sporting events such as:

Each SAHB match is a real sporting spectacle at the CSI which is regularly sold out.
