Description

Located 2 hours from Paris by train, on the banks of the Loire, the Cadre Noir of Saumur was created by order of the king in the 18th century and stands for tradition and French equestrian excellence. Integrated into the French Horse and Riding Institute (IFCE) in 2010, it is the national technical establishment serving those in the equine industry. The activities and state-of-the-art facilities of this outstanding centre extend over 700 acres, across two locations less than 6 km away: - Terrefort, where the IFCE carries out four of its missions in Saumur: horse riding in the French tradition, training, sport and research. - Verrie, used for international competitions, training horses for the French eventing team, organising horse racing meetings and various outdoor activities. Every effort has been made to ensure that horses and riders are happy here... an exceptional natural environment with the Loire-Anjou-Touraine Regional Naturale Park, medical and veterinary services close at hand, cultural and touristic charms, to say nothing of the diverse and high quality accommodation and dining on offer. Thanks to its partnership with Isle-Briand in Le Lion d’Angers, hosted delegates can access a comprehensive training base of international standing for the various riding disciplines. The IFCE-Le Cadre Noir covers all the bases when it comes to providing competitors with optimal preparation conditions, while enabling them to enjoy the "sweetness of Anjou", as it is known in France.

Special features

The IFCE is the training centre for the French eventing team and reigning Olympic champions. It is also the only French horse riding training centre accredited by the Grand INSEP network. This label ensures the quality of the facilities, as well as the permanent or regular presence of a wide variety of skills for supporting the performance of riders (fitness coach, sports doctor, physiotherapist, etc.) and horses (veterinary clinic with modern scanning equipment and expertise in osteopathy, dentistry, farriery, etc.). Finally, any teams without a regular trainer or that want to go deeper into specific areas can complete their preparation with the assistance of local expertise.
