The Stade Hélitas, approved by the French Athletics Federation, is located in the heart of the city in a unique landscape and historical environment. The high-performance "gold" tartan track, equipped with 9 lanes in a straight line and 8 on the ring, was completely renovated in 2018. All the equipment (high and pole carpets, hurdles, etc.) complies with international standards. The enclosure is secure and can be made inaccessible to the public and to the public sight.
Within the stadium grounds there is a gymnasium, 500-seat stands and an indoor athletics training room.
A weight room and the Caen water sports stadium are close to the stadium, with a sauna/hammam area.
In addition, the presence of meadows and greenways in the immediate proximity of the stadium also allows the organisation of specific training sessions in the middle of nature.
The Helitas Stadium was designated as the host facility for the French Hope Athletics Championships in 2021, the French Elite Athletics Championships in 2022 and the international school competition “Gymnasiades School Summer Games” for the athletics events in 2022.
