The Rabelais Gymnasium is located in the Paul Vauquelin sports complex, in the city center of Maromme. It has the advantage of being located in a privileged environment for sports. It is easily accessible by public transport thanks to the SNCF train station connecting it to Rouen or by the metropolitan transport network, and the TEOR system, transport on own site. Various catering and accommodation offers are located near the site. It is also near a sports health center (IRMS2).

Special features

Lot of sports facilities and possibilities of practice in a single site is the real asset of the center. The Rabelais gymnasium allows athletes to benefit from optimal physical preparation through the presence of a weight room, a dojo, a gymnastics hall, an athletics track and many other equipment. Catering is also possible on site, thanks to the presence of a club house. Outside, thanks to its location in the Cailly valley, the site is particularly protected from the wind, which is interesting for track sessions.

Known for

Thanks to the quality of this equipment, the Rabelais gymnasium has hosted and continues to host high-level sporting events. The handball school world championships took place in this gymnasium, as well as many French national championships or University championships. The local badminton team MDMSA competes at the highest national level (top 12) in the gymnasium. For basketball, Rouen Métropole Basket (proB) has made a habit of hosting a pre-season match there. Weekly training of a National 3 basketball team. Volleyball was played in this hall at Elite level.
