The city of Champigny-sur-Marne is close to Paris and easily reached by A4 highway. You can also get there on the RER A or RER E city trains, plus an SNCF train line and a few bus lines. It is fitted with Velib’ terminals (rental bikes), and in 2025 it will host two train stations on the Grand Paris Express line. The site is easily accessible, at the heart of a dynamic and changing neighborhood. The sports compound is made up of four halls, including one dedicated to high-level Taekwondo, with 2 practice areas. A dojo and a multi-purpose hall are also available. The site has level access and is accessible to people with disabilities. It was refurbished in the summer of 2020 (painting, electricity….), and offers practice halls, changing rooms and toilets which are fully accessible to people with disabilities.
A nice practice area in a recently refurbished facility.
Some 15 sports may be practiced on site, there are other halls (a gym, a dojo, a dance hall), allowing for the physical preparation and practice of many other sports complementary to Taekwondo.
Practicing athletes will appreciate the versatility of the site. It is fully accessible to people with disabilities and a cardiac defibrillator is available on site.
Options in the center :
- Possiblity to practice gymnastics, racket and collective sports
- Security provided
- The compound is open 7 days a week
The site hosts the historical local club, l’Académie Sporting Club Champigny, where Haby Niaré trained (she is the 2013 Taekwondo world champion, and a silver medal winner in the 2016 Rio Olympics). Many athletes who are registered as “high level athletes” or part of the “regional Performance enhancing plan” practice Taekwondo on the site.
