Description

Granville is known for the vitality of its sporting life and the quality of its sports facilities. Its coastal location in the bay of Mont St Michel enables a very wide range of sports and nautical activities to be enjoyed. Less than 3 hours 15 minutes from Paris by train or car and an hour from Rennes or Caen airports, Granville’s municipal tennis court is modern and accessible to everyone. It consists of three outdoor clay courts, one outdoor artificial clay court, four indoor courts, two each in Terbal and GreenSet. The courts are complemented by a club house with a social area, changing rooms and offices. This sports facility is usable and accessible to all, and includes all necessary equipment to be an ideal centre for Olympic preparation.

Special features

The Granville municipal tennis court can be found 400 meters from the town center, near the world famous Christian Dior garden, adjoining the thalassotherapy centre and hotel facilities. It is available in part for private functions, with dedicated entrances for delegates, and space that can be used for on-site catering.

Known for

Granville hosts the finals of the European Junior Girls Team Tennis Championships every two years. This international competition uses the municipal clay courts. Delegates and players are always delighted with the quality of the playing surfaces and the expertise of technical staff on site. We also welcomed the French rugby team to Granville in 2017, and the US women’s delegation for the Rugby World Cup in France. In 2022, we will host the sprint event of the orienteering race of the National Union of School Sports World School Championship. Granville has also welcomed several professional French football teams for training in recent years: SM Caen, EA Guingamps, AJ Auxerre and Olympique de Marseille.
