Description

The preparation center of Georges SUANT is composed of the stadium Georges Suant, of a riding center, the aquatic park Pajeaud and the armoury room of the sports complex Eric TABARLY. The center is situated South-West of Antony just next to the public ‘Parc Heller’ and close to station “Les Baconnets” of the RER line B, which serves the centre of Paris, la Gare du Nord, Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport and Orly airport via the Orlyval. The station is also less than 4 kilometres from the train station ‘Massy TGV’. The Georges SUANT stadium offers an athletics stadium rebuilt in 2020, and is equipped with SmarTracks technology, 19 tennis courts of which 7 are covered and 2 synthetic football grounds. A club house with an outdoor terraced area is available to be used by the athletes. The athletics stadium has a national ranking and is completed with an indoor jumping hall for activities such as pole vault, high jump and long jump. The gallery holds 3500 places and regroups changing rooms for the athletes and managers et hosts on the first floor a weight-training room and a cardio training room. Close by is the riding centre with an indoor and outdoor arena. Also, can be found close is the aquatics centre Pajeaud, which offers a diving pit 20 meters deep, a pool of 25 meters, 8 swimming corridors and 1 wellness area with a sauna. The center proposed a unity for modern pentathlon with all the necessary equipment in a radius of 1 km.

The athletics track is equipped with 124 buried portals and 30 movable portals to take the performance of the athletes.

Known for

Since the end of the 1970s the Georges SUANT Stadium has seen many different sports practiced by the people of Antony.

The center has organized majority athletics competitions at a national level.

The stadium is often chosen to host interclub athletics tournaments, and has regular organized the ‘Coupe d’Europe de Relais des Clubs Champions’, the finals of ‘National 1 des Interclubs’, the ‘Championnats de France Universitaires’ and finally the ‘Championnats d’Ile-de-France’.

The site was also the grounds for the French championship of wheelchair tennis in April 2012.
