Description

The George Gallienne Sports Complex is located in the city of Chambourcy which has  5,724 inhabitants, 29 km west of central Paris and the Chapelle district where the Olympic badminton event will be held (L'Arena De La Porte of the chapel). Our city is close to 3 international airports, located between a 1h00 and a 1h30 drive (Charles de Gaulle, Orly and Beauvais), which facilitates access to our complex. The Youth and Sport Pole, created in 2019, is particularly active around education through sport, olympism as well as the promotion of sports practice for all its inhabitants, especially for young people under the label « Terre des Jeux », obtained in 2020, and Generation 2024, where our three schools are labeled: nursery and elementary schools as well as middle school. Our city has a very important associative base with its Municipal Sports Association and 22 sports  and physical activities made up of 1850 members in 2021. The badminton section has 200 members. This diversity of players  will allow delegations to be welcomed in optimal conditions, with the staff present and available to the delegation. Our municipal and associative teams are used to organizing and hosting associative and sports events. Thanks to its quality infrastructures, the George Gallienne sports center provides excellent physical and sports preparation in an environment that is close to nature, safe and pleasant. « Camborciens » have a real sense of welcoming, living together and respecting the Olympic values.

Special features

The “George Gallienne” Olympic Games Preparation Center, dedicated to badminton, is located at 5 minutes walk from the shopping area and less than 10 minutes from hotels and restaurants in the city. With 10 sports facilities on a single site, the complex offers the possibility of combining on-site training in the sports specialty, technical analysis, training and relaxation (meeting rooms and club house). In addition, it is possible to provide a weight room for muscle building. The whole of it is situated  in a calm and wooded environment. The city also has several kilometers of trails for all types of outdoor activities.

The main multisport hall is located at 5 minutes by car from the Centre Hospitalier Intercommunal de Poissy / Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
