Description

This center truly is a sports complex comprising 3 synthetic fields for football (soccer) with AS Fontonne football Antibes, field hockey with AS Fontonne hockey, as well as an outdoor field for handball and basketball. The field hockey Club is in the first French Division. The stadium also houses the offices and premises of the two clubs, and those of the Hospitaliers d'Antibes club. The stadium is located on avenue des Frères Garbero for football, and Parc des Sports Docteur Léger, 56 Ter boulevard Beaurivage for hockey. This center is a few meters from the sea and offers a magnificent view to the various players who come to practice. Well connected and with plenty of parking spaces for parking, this stadium is an ideal place to practice football, hockey, and many other team sports. The hockey field is in special high-quality synthetic turf. The field also boasts full pitch lighting. Automatic watering, using a spray lance around the field, is an innovative and very efficient system. The complex features changing rooms and toilets. The entire center is compliant with the persons with reduced mobility (PRM) technical specifications.

Special features

The center boasts high quality fields. It is the only hockey ground of this quality in the South East of France.

It also has top-level technology. It has a synthetic floor (excluding turf) and has 100 seats in the stands. The development area is 7,700 sq. meters.

The view of the sea and more particularly the Baie des anges offers a rare setting.

The center is also located in the immediate vicinity of the hospital and the sports and medical center.

Known for

Every year for over 20 years, the center has organized the field hockey international tournament, which brings the neighborhood and the entire city to life.

The club organized a match for the French Women’s Team against Wales in 2019.

The hockey stadium is nicknamed “the swimming pool” by the pilots of the airliners serving Nice airport and is a landmark for them.
