Description

The FENESTRIER nautical base is located in Drôme, in Romans-sur-Isère. It is an attractive and welcoming town, located along the Isère and at the foot of the Vercors massif. Marseille train station is served in 45 minutes. Lyon airport is 1 hour by car. - The nautical base is 5 minutes by car and 15 minutes on foot from the city center. Dedicated only to rowing, the FENESTRIER nautical base has: - 24,000 m of water (round trip); - Accommodation capacity of 24 beds with dining room; - 3 safety boats; - 3 changing rooms; - 1 room with 12 ergometers and 1 gymnasium - 1 infirmary; - 1 meeting room with wifi connection.   The site, thanks to the quality of the infrastructure and hospitality of its local association, regularly receives teams in advanced training or preparation for high-level competition, such as the French rowing team in 2014. The offer of a body of water most suitable for the practice of rowing because it has all the ideal characteristics: protection from the wind, no current, no commercial traffic, no other sporting activities, very pleasant thanks to a breathtaking view of the Vercors massif.

Ideally located, the FENESTRIER nautical base is a 5-minute drive from the city center and a 15-minute walk. Hotels and restaurants can be found nearby.

Within a radius of less than 5 kilometers we find:

– medical infrastructure (radiology & ultrasound, analysis laboratory, cryotherapy, balneotherapy, etc.)

– additional sports facilities (football fields, athletics tracks, sports halls, swimming pool, dojo)

 

Capital of footwear, Romans-sur-Isere is also renowned for its gastronomy: Pognes and Ravioles are its two specialties.

Known for

Founded in 1908, « L’ Aviron Romanais Péageois » is a training club with multiple national titles and is proud to have had with Laurent PORCHIER a gold medal rower at the SYDNEY Olympic Games in 2000.

The practice of rowing has been established sportingly for many years in the city of Romans.

The local association owns and maintains the values of respect for the environment by actively participating in the maintenance of the flora and fauna present on the banks of the Isère through awareness-raising actions or ad hoc actions in terms of water with its local partners such as the EDF company or the Drôme Fishing Federation
