Judo

Description

The city of Champigny-sur-Marne is close to Paris and easily reached by A4 highway. You can also get there on the RER A or RER E city trains, plus an SNCF train line and a few bus lines. It is fitted with Velib’ terminals (rental bikes), and in 2025 it will host two train stations on the Grand Paris Express line. The Dojo Roger Ginet is located between the city center and the banks of the river Marne, and it is fully dedicated to judo with 3 fighting areas, at the heart of a sports compound hosting a gym, a workout hall, a stadium and a swimming pool.

It is a vast dojo, with a workout room accesssible to people with disabilities.

The activities which you can practice on the compound are : badminton, battledore and shuttlecock (jeu de volant), basket-ball, football, indoor football (futsal), artistic gymnastics, handball, table tennis, archery, volley-ball, and many water sports.

The 55-space parking lot is dedicated to athletes, with 4 spaces for people with disabilities. The dojo is open 7 days a week with on-site security. It is fully accessible to people with motor disabilities and a cardiac defibriallator is available on site.

Known for

The site is the training location for the local RSCC judo club, whose female team won the European club Championship several times.

The club hosts high-level female judo contestants, such as Clarisse Agbegnenou (who was 4 times World champion, 5 times European champion, and won a silver medal in the Rio Olympics), and Amandine Buchard (who got 2 World medals, and is n°1 on the ranking list).

The club also hosts 2 olympic champions : Severine Vandenhende (-63 kg, Sydney, 2000), and Emilie Andeol (+ 78 kg, Rio, 2016).
