Description

Situated less than 2.5 hrs from Paris, the Maison Départementale des Sports features a range of high-level sporting equipment to provide ideal training conditions. The quiet, protected and green environment of the site allows users to fully prepare away from all the hustle and bustle. It is located near Sedan, Charleville-Mézières and the Belgian border and is easy to get to by car – with the motorway 5 just mins away –, plane (via the international airports at Luxembourg, Charleroi or Paris which are 1.5 hrs and 2.5 hrs away) or train, with a train station 10 mins away from the establishment. The centre will give delegations exclusive access to: - a 650-m2 dojo, - a 330-m2 boxing room with 3 competition rings, - a modern gym, - a 315-m2  fitness and stretching room, - a large sports hall and outdoor multi-sports ground for free practice, - a 6-lane athletics track, - accommodation and catering tailored to athletes, with the local hospitality and catering college, with a nutrition-based option, - a multilingual team available to the athletes 24/7, - a massage room, - an audiovisual studio with Wi-Fi access, - 3 meeting rooms that can be arranged to accommodate 10 to 100 people, - numerous marked jogging trails in the forest 5 km away. In a quiet, protected setting conducive to optimal preparation, this centre offers a complete on-site service, including:

– training with two rooms dedicated to boxing and judo,

– physical preparation with the fully-equipped gym (rowing machines, exercise bikes, treadmills, weights bench, multiple weights machines, etc.),

– recovery with a treatment room and medical/paramedical professionals at hand,

– catering tailored to athletes and accommodation with 6 luxury rooms and 20 double rooms at the hospitality college 200 m away,

– meals prepared by hospitality and nutrition students,

– Wi-Fi throughout the establishment.

The nearby college also has a 200-m² seminar room that can accommodate 100 people, and a 60-cover training restaurant.

Boxing: A host of international boxers who have taken part in the Olympic and Paralympic Games regularly prepare for their fights (amateur and professional) on this site, including: Hassan N’Dam, Khédafi Djelkir, Mathieu Bauderlique, Daouda Sow, Souleymane Cissoko, Ali Halab, Jérôme Thomas,

Hassam N’Dam, WBA-WBO world champion, has regularly visited the Maison Départementale des Sports in Bazeilles to prepare for his international fights.

Mehdi Nichane, national trainer to the French boxing teams, often (2 to 3 times a year) organises preparation courses here.

Judo: Every year the dojo hosts departmental and regional competitions, with participants including athletes such as Frédérique Jossinet, Cécile Nowak and Stéphane Traineau.

The centre also hosts the League stages and regional grading exams.
